Ministry

Crossway exists to publish gospel-centered, Bible-based content aimed at honoring our Savior and serving his Church. We want to help people understand the implications of the gospel and the truth of God’s Word, for all of life, for all eternity, and for the glory of God.

Crossway's publishing ministry consists of Bible, book, and tract publishing, accompanied by a variety of strategic global ministry initiatives.

Who We Are

The purpose of Crossway has been, from its founding as a not-for-profit ministry in 1938, to publish gospel-centered, Bible-centered content that will honor our Savior and serve his Church. We seek to help people understand the massive implications of the gospel and the truth of God’s Word, for all of life, for all eternity, and for the glory of God.

Or, as it was written in our 1979 mission statement:

Any surplus that may arise shall be used solely to further the ministry and shall not inure to the benefit of any individual.

Statement of Faith

  1. The Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original documents, and the only final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

  2. There is one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely holy and eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  3. The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and sinlessly perfect. His sacrificial death on the cross is substitutionary and representative. He rose bodily from the dead and ascended to his Father’s right hand, where he now ministers as our Great High Priest. He will come again to receive his own unto himself and to reign in power and glory for all eternity.

  4. Each member of the human race is fallen, sinful and lost, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for salvation. Redemption is wholly by the blood of Christ, and salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  5. The Holy Spirit indwells the believer, who is sealed until the day of redemption and empowered to live a godly life, through the ongoing sanctification of the Holy Spirit.

  6. The New Testament church began with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and is composed of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. All true believers are united to him and to one another by the indwelling Spirit. This means that the church, as a whole, is not a merely human organization, but a living organism, known as the body of Christ.

  7. There are two Christian ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism signifies that the believer is buried with Christ and is risen with him to walk in newness of life. The Lord’s Supper is instituted by the Lord himself exclusively for his own. In the observance of the Lord’s Supper, believers remember him, they show his death until he comes, and they profess their union with Christ and ongoing faith in him as their only Savior.

  8. Every true child of God possesses eternal life and—being justified, sanctified, and sealed with the Holy Spirit—is safe and secure for all eternity. However, a Christian can, through sin, lose his fellowship, joy, power, testimony, and reward; and can incur the Father’s discipline. The believer’s relationship with God is eternal, being established by new birth; daily fellowship, however, is dependent upon obedience.

  9. There will be a bodily resurrection of the saved and of the lost—of the saved, unto eternal life, and of the lost, unto eternal and conscious judgment in hell.

  10. When Christ returns at the end of the age, all true believers will see his face and be with him forever, reigning with him in splendor and great glory, through all eternity, in the new heavens and new earth.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is profitable for correction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness (2Timothy 3:16) and that it reveals the almighty God.

We believe that Jesus is the eternal, self-existent God and is not a created being. Even though He is fully God, He took upon Himself the form of a man to live and die for our sins.

We believe that the penalty for man's sin was paid on the cross of Calvary in Jesus' death. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. By believing in Jesus Christ and accepting the grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life. "Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:9.

Because we love Jesus for His sacrificial death, we want to obey Him as he commands in John 14:15. We are not saved by our works; but, because we are saved, we choose to keep His commandments as the guide for successful living.

We believe that prophecy reveals Jesus is coming again very soon. Matthew 24:32-51.

Gospel Revival Ministries

www.gogoodnews.org

Who we are…

Our mission at Gospel Revival Ministries is to “Equip Native Workers to Reach Their Nations for Christ,” especially unreached people groups – small Hidden tribes and villages that are usually inaccessible to western missionaries. Hence another motto we’ve adopted is “Equipping Native Leaders to Reach the Last of the Lost,” referring to the approximately 12,000 unreached people groups missiologists have identified that are without a gospel witness in the world today.

Also, through the years of working through native leaders, GRM has been involved in numerous Relief Projects connected with our network of native leaders which empowers them to reach once resistant peoples. When we help them in their “hour of trial” they open their hearts to the “good news” of Jesus Christ.

In the last fifteen years, GRM has attempted to make all our mission works sustainable. Meaning, when it is time for us to leave, like any normal parent separating when a child becomes of age, we attempt to provide our leaders with vocational trades so they don’t just SURVIVE but THRIVE without our financial help. This means we don’t create welfare systems but sustainable mission works like our work in Pakistan, which is an excellent case study of this methodology in native missions. We realize this is not always possible. In our work in Odisha (formerly Orissa), India with the Ancient Bondo Tribe deep in the forest mountains, the native missionaries must be financially supported.

We believe that this is the most strategic, sensible, and economical way to fulfill Matthew 28:19 & 20,

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

What we believe . . .

That the Bible is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.

  • In one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.

  • In the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His substitutionary death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal, imminent return.

  • That man was created by and for God; that by man’s disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous because of His sacrificial death and are, therefore, in the right relationship with God.

  • In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers and thus enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer.

  • In the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the everlasting blessedness of those in right relationship with God, and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God’s forgiveness in His Son.

  • We also hold the belief of the Lausanne Covenant.

It may be noted that Rev. John Musser was a recommended associate evangelist for the Billy Graham crusades for over 20 years.

Global Disciples

globaldisciples.org

As Global Disciples,

  • OUR VISION is to see every person have an opportunity to choose and follow Jesus Christ.

  • OUR PRAYER is that disciples of Jesus Christ, from many nations and vocations, will embrace this vision and do their part.

  • OUR MISSION is to make it possible for clusters of churches to multiply Christ-like disciples and locally-sustainable fellowships among least-reached people.

  • OUR CENTRAL FOCUS is to equip leaders selected by their churches to multiply Christ-like disciples, who multiply churches among least-reached people.

  • OUR PHILOSOPHY is that local expressions of the Body of Christ in close proximity to least-reached people are best able to reach them—and we all can help.

  •

Our History

In November 1995, leaders from several discipleships and mission training programs met for a day of prayer and fasting. Drawn together by a common mission, each also shared a common desire: to respond to the need expressed by clusters of churches worldwide to provide discipleship-mission training for their own young people.

As the Holy Spirit moved, these leaders began to see that the barriers separating them and their ministries from each other had fostered competition and pride instead of collaboration. Through confession, brokenness, and prayer, God birthed Global Disciples and the initial training model now known as Global Disciple Training (GDT). Since then, Global Disciples has added training for trainers in small business development (SBD) and leadership development (LEAD).

Today, Global Disciples has grown to serve in partnership with over 928 church organizations, fellowships, or denominations in 46 countries, providing training that enables them to equip and send out their own mission workers to multiply Christ-like believers and plant new, locally-sustainable fellowships and churches. The global nature of our ministry is also reflected in the 26 nationalities represented in our facilitators, trainers, and support staff.

Our Core Values

  • Intimacy with Jesus. Who we are and what we do flow from our relationship with Christ.

  • Trusting Relationships. Building trust with our co-workers, partners and donors is essential.

  • Risk-taking Obedience. Obeying Christ requires the courage to risk all for our God-given mission.

  • Unwavering Integrity. Being authentic, accountable, and truthful in our words and actions.

  • Serving with Humility. Modeling the way of Jesus is our goal, living selflessly for God’s glory.

  • Transforming by Prayer. We want our work to be conceived, birthed, and carried out in prayer.

Our Statement of Faith

Global Disciples serves to equip, connect and facilitate cooperation in the global Body of Christ among clusters of churches focused on reaching those least-reached with the Gospel. We assist in the development of locally-sustainable training in discipleship-mission, small business, and leadership, which result in reproducing fellowships of believers. Together we hold these biblical commitments to:

  • Glorify God, the Creator and eternal Lord of the universe.

  • Exalt and proclaim the only Savior and risen Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

  • Rely on the Holy Spirit to teach, convict, comfort, and empower.

  • Accept the Bible as the divinely inspired, authoritative Word of God.

  • Demonstrate love in our relationships with those in the church, the Body of Christ.

  • Show love for those without Christ through lives of compassionate service, wholesome relationships, and a clear evangelistic witness.

  • Honor the sanctity of human life from conception to death, understanding we are created in the image of God, as male and female.

  • Live in sexual purity, whether single or in a marriage between a man and a woman.

  • Pray and work diligently to see the Gospel spread to all peoples in anticipation of the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

As grateful recipients of God’s grace, we always seek to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). In each area of responsibility, we want to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Our theological understandings consist of the Lausanne Covenant and the Manila Manifesto.

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 3:11

OUR PLEDGE

I am a global disciple of Jesus.

My allegiance is to Jesus Christ. He is the Living Word of God, as revealed by the Holy Spirit and through the Bible.

I want to do my part so everyone has the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus and to choose if they will believe and follow Him.  My desire is to see each person experience the transforming love of Jesus, live in the fullness of the Spirit, and enjoy God forever.

As a participant in a local expression of the global Body of Christ, I am united in heart and purpose with sisters and brothers of many nations, ethnic groups, languages, and churches to glorify God and to make Him known.

I believe my part as a global disciple of Jesus Christ is to:

  • Pursue Intimacy with God as my Creator, Provider, and Father, through Jesus my Savior, Lord, and Friend.

  • Love others as Jesus loves them, relating and serving as witnesses in word and deed, loving even enemies.

  • Pray diligently for people who do not yet know Christ, especially those unreached with the Good News.

  • Live generously as a steward of all God has entrusted to me, being an ambassador of our generous Master.

  • Rely on the Holy Spirit and the Bible to lead, guide, and empower me to live, love, and serve for God’s glory.

Faith. Hope. Love.

Who is Nora Lam?

September 4, 1932 ~ February 2, 2004

A Legacy of Missions and Soul Winning

The heroine and subject of the major motion picture CHINA CRY, Nora Lam has often been called the most famous Chinese evangelist/missionary in the world. Her remarkable life story continues to inspire millions of people.

Her book, CHINA CRY, is a best-seller with over 200,000 copies published by Thomas Nelson Publishers. The film of her life story won the 1990 Golden Angel Award for the best movie in moral media. CHINA CRY also was voted the "Best Feature Film of 1990" by the Association of Asian/Pacific American Artists.

Nora Lam was born September 4, 1932, and was adopted by Dr. H.T. and Evelyn Tak-Bun (Yip) Sung, a prominent family in Shanghai. Dr. Sung's father was the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of China. When the Japanese invaded mainland China during World War II, Nora and her family were forced out of their home. They fled from the Japanese and sought refuge with a relative until they were able to achieve an escape route to Chungking. When the Japanese army surrendered and left China, Nora's family moved back to Shanghai.    She then enrolled in Soochow University's law school and received her degree with honors in 1953. She later taught law and history at the university.

But before long, the rumble of communism was thundering throughout China. The reign of Communist Dictator Mao Tze Tung was in full force, and Nora Lam was singled out and interrogated because of her affluent background as the daughter of a wealthy doctor and the fact that she attended the Mary Farnham Presbyterian missionary school. When she refused to repudiate her beliefs and faith, she was imprisoned and eventually put before a firing squad. A truly astonishing miracle occurred when she survived the ordeal which remains a mystery until this day.

After imprisonment by the communists, in 1958, she managed to escape to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, she worked with the Department of Social Welfare. In 1966, Nora Lam was brought to the United States for the first time by a famed evangelist, the late Kathryn Kuhlman. Nora made her first network television appearance on Kuhlman's "I Believe In Miracles" CBS show. Kathryn Kuhlman was a mentor and sponsor of Nora Lam. Later that year, 1966, Nora and her three children emigrated to the U.S.

Throughout the 70s, Nora Lam began to present her testimony to groups across America; to supply Chinese Bibles and Christian literature, to hold large evangelistic crusades; and to give aid to orphanages in Asia. During this time, she established an office in Taiwan as her headquarters in the Far East; and she began her regular radio and TV programs there. These programs penetrated the Communist "Bamboo Curtain." She held large evangelistic crusades in Taiwan.

She was the host of the Chinese "God's Power Today" TV program for TBN and CBN. In 1972, she wrote her first book, "For Those Tears," an autobiography. In 1974, she incorporated her own organization in San Jose, California and began her annual missions tours to China and the Far East. Over 5,000 North Americans have been with Nora Lam on these short-term missionary trips in the last 18 consecutive years.

In 1974, Nora Lam became a naturalized United States citizen. She received special recognition during this period of her life, including the Korean Association of Social Work Award, a medal from the Pacific Cultural Foundation, an award from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission, and a special award from Sung Ro Won children's Home in Korea.

In 1979, Nora Lam returned to Communist China (People's Republic of China) itself. This trip marked the beginning of her deep involvement with the communications between Red China and the U.S.  In 1987, she visited the Shanghai State Church along with a group of American tourists; and the following year she, along with several outstanding Americans from various states, ministered at the Beijing Christian Center where President George and Barbara Bush attended when he was an U.S. Envoy to China.

By the 80's, Nora Lam's work had captured the notice of heads of state, including President Ronald Reagan. She was issued a private invitation to the White House in 1980.  In l980 - 81, she opened up offices in Canada and Hong Kong. In 1982, she was first listed in WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD and WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA.

In 1988, Nora Lam began hosting a television broadcast on China's CCTV, with a potential audience of 600 million people, as part of a cultural exchange program in conjunction with the Trinity Broadcasting Network of Santa Ana, California. Additionally, Nora Lam became a featured guest of Paul Crouch on his U.S. television broadcasts.   In 1989, Nora Lam was honored with the International Broadcaster Award at the National Religious Broadcasters annual convention in Washington, D.C.  She has been broadcasting on Taiwan radio and television for 17 years.

Nora Lam has distributed over 1.1 million Chinese Bibles in China/Asia. Her "Bibles For China Program" is one of the most important outreaches of her ministry in conjunction with assisting and sponsoring the underground house church movement in China. Nora Lam passed away on February 2, 2004. The extraordinary life of Nora Lam is a story of overcoming seemingly hopeless obstacles, the story of her public and private belief: of revolutions, war, and political tumult and the individual who, irrespective of the tides of history or circumstances, stands victorious and triumphant.

Prison Fellowship

OUR FOUNDER, CHUCK COLSON

Charles “Chuck” Colson, President Richard M. Nixon's White House counsel and hatchet man, served time in a federal prison camp for a Watergate-related crime. After his incarceration, Chuck felt led by God to honor a promise he made to remember his fellow prisoners and their families. That promise grew into Prison Fellowship® and the world's largest family of prison ministries.

THE LEGACY OF CHUCK COLSON

The story of our founder is a testimony to God’s grace and mercy.

As a new Christian, Chuck Colson voluntarily pled guilty to obstruction of justice in 1974 and served seven months in Alabama’s Maxwell Prison for his part in the Watergate scandal.

In his best-selling memoir, Born Again, Chuck wrote, “I found myself increasingly drawn to the idea that God had put me in prison for a purpose and that I should do something for those I had left behind.”

Colson emerged from prison with a new mission: mobilizing the Christian church to minister to prisoners.

In 1976, he founded Prison Fellowship, which is now the nation’s largest Christian nonprofit serving prisoners, former prisoners, and their families, and a leading advocate for criminal justice reform. In recognition of his work among prisoners, Colson received the prestigious Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion in 1993.

Chuck Colson passed away on April 21, 2012. His legacy continues, however, in the work of Prison Fellowship and in the lives of the many people his ministry has touched.

After a career in hardball politics, Chuck Colson emerged as one of the most influential evangelical leaders of the past half-century, devoting his life to ministering to prisoners and sharing the Gospel’s message of love and hope to millions.

"In Matthew 25, Jesus says, ‘I was in prison, and you visited me.’ He calls upon His followers to minister to those who are behind bars. In other words, we will be judged in part by the way we treat those who are in prison. The fact that a man has committed a crime, and is paying the price, does not mean that he forfeits his God-given dignity."

—Chuck Colson (Justice Report 1977, ‘High-Voltage Humiliation’)

"For more than 35 years, Chuck Colson, a former prisoner himself … had a tremendous ministry reaching into prisons and jails with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I get to heaven and see Chuck again, I believe I will see many, many people there whose lives have been transformed because of the message he shared with them. … I counted a privilege to have called him friend."

- The Rev. Billy Graham, Evangelist

"Chuck was truly a brilliant visionary, a man who understood human frailties and wanted to bring Christ’s love and compassion into the lives of the downtrodden. His life exemplified the admonition for all of us contained in Micah 6: 'to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.' "

- Norman A. Carlson, Director, Federal Bureau of Prisons (Ret.)

OUR MISSION IS TO RESTORE THOSE AFFECTED BY CRIME AND INCARCERATION.

OUR VISION

TO SEE ALL AFFECTED BY CRIME RECONCILED TO GOD, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITIES.

Prison Fellowship believes that a restorative approach to prisoners, former prisoners, and all those affected by crime and incarceration can make communities safer and healthier. Our ministry is founded on the conviction that all people are created in God's image and that no life is beyond God's reach. As Christians, we believe that Jesus — Himself brought to trial, executed, buried, and brought to life again — offers hope, healing, and a new purpose for each life. He can make even the most broken people and situations whole again. Through an amazing awakening to new hope and life purpose, those who once broke the law are transformed and mobilized to serve their neighbors, replacing the cycle of crime with a cycle of renewal.

PRISON FELLOWSHIP'S VALUES

  • INTEGRITY: We are honest in all of our dealings and steward the resources the Lord has entrusted to us.

  • COMMUNITY: We work collaboratively, internally, and externally, building healthy cultures to achieve our mission.

  • RESTORATION: We quickly seek to reconcile with others, and model second chances.

  • RESPONSIBILITY: We take personal responsibility for our actions and follow through on our commitments.

  • PRODUCTIVITY: We perform our respective roles with a drive to achieve results that advance the shared mission and vision of our organization.

  • AFFIRMATION: We celebrate each other’s success and value, recognizing we are all created in God’s image.

Our Mission and Vision

We exist to transform lives and see all Israel saved.

It is the mission of Jewish Voice Ministries to:

  • Proclaim the Gospel

  • Grow the Messianic Jewish community

  • Engage the Church concerning Israel and the Jewish people

Jewish Voice carries out this mission through a many-faceted ministry that includes humanitarian medical outreaches, large-scale international festivals, congregation planting, and leadership training, television, print media, digital channels, and speaking engagements.

The Early Days

Louis Kaplan’s commitment to using his voice to declare the mighty acts of God to his generation and to the next is the foundation for the work of Jewish Voice Ministries International (JVMI). Kaplan, a Jewish follower of Yeshua, launched Jewish Voice Broadcasts in 1967, a weekly 15-minute radio program. It was an outgrowth of his decades of work as a traveling evangelist. The radio program and program first aired on Christian radio in Phoenix, Arizona.

1967 was a watershed year in Jewish history. Israel reclaimed the city of Jerusalem in the Six-Day War on June 7th, 1967. This miraculous act was a fulfillment of a prophecy in Luke 21:24 that directly connects the reestablishment of Jerusalem with the times of the Gentiles being fulfilled.

Louis Kaplan believed he’d followed his Savior to the crossroads of prophetic history. He’d committed his life to Yeshua at age 19 at the height of the Great Depression after attending a revival meeting at a nearby church. He said, “After the service, I hesitantly approached the minister and asked him privately if a Jew could be saved.

“He replied: ‘Salvation is of the Jews, and Peter and Paul and the prophets were all Jews.’

“I was astonished at that time to know that Christianity sprang from Judaism and that the first Christians were Jews!” After he committed his life to his Jewish Messiah, Kaplan returned to the home of his parents in New York City in order to tell them about his decision. After a bitter argument, his family asked him to leave the home never to return.

God provided for Louis’ needs as an older believer opened her home to him, and spent time daily discipling him (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). Kaplan began preaching in churches and revival meetings. After a return to the workforce managing a real estate office during World War II, he was convicted that he was missing the calling God had placed in his heart: to give his life over to the proclamation of the Good News to his generation and to the next. The Holocaust and the world events following, including the founding of the State of Israel in 1948, convinced Kaplan that our world was moving toward the End of Days prophesied in the Bible.

Kaplan said, “The greatest sign, warning, proof, and evidence to the world and to the Church of the end of this age is the restoration and resurrection of the House of Israel after being entombed in the graves of exile for many centuries.” After traveling around the country for years proclaiming God’s salvation to the Jew first, and also the Gentile (Romans 1:16), Kaplan received a call from God to begin a radio program. In January 1967, just months before the outbreak of the Six-Day War, Jewish Voice Broadcasts began airing a simple message: Yeshua heals, saves, and sets His beloved children free!

Impossible Shoes To Fill

The ministry grew and flourished, touching countless lives and introducing many to Yeshua the Messiah. The baton of leadership was passed to Jonathan Bernis in 1998 when Kaplan suffered a debilitating stroke. Bernis founded Hear O’ Israel Ministries, an outreach organization that produced large-scale, international Festivals of Jewish Music and Dance throughout Eastern Europe and Russia. In 1999, Louis Kaplan passed away.

Bernis quickly realized Kaplan’s shoes were impossible to fill. Kaplan was beloved by the staff and volunteers, and in the early days, Bernis struggled to figure out how to lead the ministry forward. He visited Kaplan’s widow, Chira, and told her dejectedly, “I can’t do this anymore. I’ll never be able to fill Brother Kaplan’s shoes.” At those words, Chira got up from the table saying, “I have something for you.” She returned with three shoeboxes containing her deceased husband’s shoes.

Bernis said, “Now it so happens I have a very unusual shoe size – an 8-1/2 EEE. Guess what size they were? That’s right, 8-1/2 EEE.” It was a transforming moment in Bernis’ life. “Under my own power, my own strength, and my own strength, I was inadequate. But through the Lord’s power, because of His calling on my life, I could fill Brother Kaplan’s shoes.”

Under Bernis’ leadership, the Jewish Voice Broadcasts continued to reach people, building on Kaplan’s legacy. Bernis oversaw the merger of Hear O’ Israel! Ministries with those of Jewish Voice in 2001, becoming Jewish Voice Ministries International (JVMI) —now a multi-faceted ministry still committed to proclaiming one unchanging message to a new generation.

Today…And Tomorrow

Our message hasn’t changed. We are called to be a voice to the Jewish people. We exist in order to transform lives and see all Israel saved. Our mission—“To proclaim the Gospel to the Jew first around the world, engage the Church concerning Israel and the Jewish people, and build the Messianic Jewish Community”—has been unwavering. The strategy, the methodology, the technology, and the geographic locations of our outreaches have changed over the decades as Jewish Voice has grown and adapted with the times, but our mission will never change. We will remain diligent in this calling and mandate until the Lord returns.

JVMI produces a daily television show, Jewish Voice with Jonathan Bernis, to educate viewers in the U.S. and abroad on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, Bible prophecy, and world events relating to Israel and the Middle East. JVMI also educates and shares our message through social media, seminars, webcasts, and print publications, including Jewish Voice Today magazine.

Our broadcast ministries exist in order to inspire our viewers to become a part of our mission to bring clean water, humanitarian aid, and the Good News of Yeshua to Jewish people scattered around the globe. JVMI provides practical compassionate assistance through recurring medical and dental clinics to impoverished Jewish people around the world, including Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, India, and Israel. The ministry also performs large-scale international festivals of Jewish music and dance in Eastern Europe and South America. These heritage events provide a unique opportunity to share our faith with attendees.

Should the Lord tarry, we will continue to build on the past in order to raise our voices to proclaim to this generation and the next that Yeshua is Lord. Won’t you partner with us in this life-saving, life-changing work?

About GNN

OUR MISSION, OUR PASSION

Since 1997, people have turned to the Good News Network® as an antidote to the barrage of negativity experienced in the mainstream media. Because of its long history, staying power, and public trust, GNN has remained #1 on Google.

The website, with its archive of 21,000 positive news stories from around the globe, confirms what people already know—that good news itself is not in short supply; the broadcasting of it is. From our 5-star app to our new book (And Now, The Good News: 20 Years of Inspiring News Stories), to our weekly Good News Gurus podcast, and Morning Jolt email newsletter, GNN is a daily dose of hope for millions of fans.

Thomas Jefferson said the job of journalists was to portray accurately what was happening in society. GNN was founded because the media was failing to report the positive news. In the 1990s while homicide rates in the U.S. plummeted by 42 percent, television news coverage of murders surged more than 700%, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs.

“If news is not really news unless it is bad news, it may be difficult to claim we are an informed nation.”

Through more than forty years of ministry, thousands came to Christ. In 1955 the Andersen's son Fred, a student at Tennessee Temple, impressed upon Dr. Lee Roberson the need for helpers in the Belgian Congo. In response, Dr. Roberson, along with nine other pastors, organized the Southern wing of the Congo Gospel Mission.

When the Congo closed in 1960 because of the revolution, Dr. Roberson made the motion that the Mission be enlarged to embrace the world. That led to the formation of Baptist International Missions on June 28, 1960. Since 1960 BIMI has extended its ministries into 100 fields around the world. With one thousand missionaries the Mission continues to assist local churches with their efforts to fulfill the Great Commission.

Our Purpose Statement

Understanding the importance of the Great Commission, our purpose is to assist independent Baptist churches in the establishment of like churches around the world. BIMI exists to serve the local church as it sends missionaries into God's harvest field. As the church's delegated servant, we provide accountability, training, and assistance to our missionaries as they carry out their pre-field, on-field, and furlough ministries. It is our desire to glorify God through the pursuit of excellence in every area of this worldwide ministry of faith.

Our Structure

BIMI is a mission agency that is operated solely by faith. We are directed by a Board of Trustees comprised of more than 20 independent Baptist pastors who volunteer their time and resources. Field Directors who have many years of experience in the field are responsible for particular areas of the world. Neither the President nor any of our Field Directors receive a salary. Like the missionaries serving overseas, they raise their own financial and prayer support and trust God to provide for them through local churches. Additionally, many of the support staff serve at the World Missions Center. These servants of the Lord have a heart for all His faithful workers serving around the world.

God the Holy Spirit is the One Who calls the missionary (Acts 13:2). In response to that call, the church sends the missionary (Acts 13:3). It is at this point that BIMI stands ready to assist in each step of the church planting process. BIMI has gained a great wealth of experience since its inception in 1960. This experience is available to help local churches and missionaries streamline their efforts in obeying the Great Commission.

Our Philosophy

We are a faith mission agency. Every missionary must trust God by faith to provide the financial and prayer support needed to enter the mission field. Missionaries are not guaranteed support by BIMI. They receive faith commitments from churches who agree to undertake their financial and prayer support.

Our Focus

Church planting is the main focus of Baptist International Missions. Planting churches is what Jesus had in mind when He said, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen" (Matthew 28:19-20). Obviously, this does not mean we avoid such things as aviation, medical missions, construction, humanitarian aid, etc., since these things often play a very vital role in starting a church. It only means these types of ministries should be a means to an end—church planting. The often-quoted statement "the job of a missionary is to work himself out of a job" is our focal point. The main goal of every BIMI missionary is the establishment of fundamental, independent Baptist churches. As a mission board, we want to do everything possible to train and assist our missionaries in this task.

Our Distinctives

Church Relationship

BIMI is an independent Baptist mission serving independent Baptist churches. As a Baptist mission, it is expected that all missionaries and missionary candidates must be scripturally baptized in a Baptist church. All missionaries and missionary candidates are to be members of and sent out by independent Baptist churches.

Bible Translations

In the English-speaking countries of the world, our missionaries teach and preach exclusively from the King James Version of the Bible.

Our Financial Accountability

Financial integrity demands accountability. As good stewards of the funds God has entrusted to our care, we are accountable both to the government and to supporting churches. Financial accountability is maintained through a yearly audit conducted by an independent accounting firm. We operate as a tax-exempt organization through which monetary contributions, materials, or properties can be channeled. BIMI provides both the contributor and the missionary with the receipts required by the government. The funds received by BIMI are raised primarily through independent Baptist churches that practice Faith Promise giving for missions. Occasionally grants and gifts from individuals, corporations, or trusts are received. These gifts are invested in projects and ministries of Kingdom value both in the United States and abroad.

Our Service to Churches and Missionaries

Baptist International Missions is committed to helping local churches with the logistics associated with the Great Commission. The administration, finances, and responsibilities involved with the task of worldwide evangelization are remarkable. Few churches possess the personnel or capability to provide all the services and know-how needed to adequately assist a missionary who has been called to serve in a faraway place. Countless details come into play when preparing missionaries for the field and when helping to make certain that their needs are met after arriving at their ministry location.
BIMI furnishes their missionaries with a legal basis on which to operate in most countries, a liaison with potential supporting churches, an accounting of monthly support levels, information services, and counsel concerning the country in which they intend to serve. BIMI's longevity and experience enable us to provide missionary candidates with information, statistics, and services including:

  • Group life, health, and cancer insurance

  • Group retirement program
  • Income tax preparation and aid in IRS matters
  • Literature and printing, audiovisual and web presence services
  • Guidance in securing vehicles, furniture, appliances, etc.
  • Assistance in securing loans when needed and approved• Stateside bill-paying services
  • Helps families who choose to home-school their children
  • Support through the avenue of a Field Director to advise and encourage
  • Training through the avenue of Candidate School
  • Refreshment through the avenue of Enrichment Week Seminars

Our Passion

Our passion is to assist local churches in reaching the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have been commanded to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). With a world population that exceeds 7 billion people, the need is greater now than it has ever been before. The words of Jesus remind us that the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few (Luke 10:2). Will you consider being one of those who will "Go"? Would you join us in praying to the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth laborers into his harvest (Matthew 9:38)?

Our Doctrines

The Inspiration of the Bible

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God. We believe the writings of the Old and New Testaments are fully God-breathed to the extent that the very words were chosen by God from the human writers' vocabulary so that the Bible is the very word of God, inerrant in all its assertions and teachings. The Bible is, therefore, the only infallible authority for both doctrine and life. Since this is true, it is the special revelation of God to man and the only basis for true Christian unity. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 5:18; Acts 1:16; Mark 12:36; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Hebrews 4:12; John 10:35;16:12,13;17:17)

The Person of God the Father
We believe God is supreme in His Person, eternal in His being, absolute in His attributes, and glorious in His Perfection. We believe in the Trinity. We believe in one Triune God, the creator of heaven and earth. We believe that in the unity of the Godhead there are three distinct persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. God is personal, spirit, omniscient, sovereign, perfect, immutable, eternal in His being, holiness, love, wisdom, and power. We believe that God is absolutely separate and above the world as its creator, yet everywhere present in the world as the sustainer of all things. God is self-existent and self-revealing in His relationship with His creation. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4; 1 Corinthian 8:6; John 1:1-3; Romans 1:2-4; Ephesians 4:3-6)

The Person of Jesus Christ

We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His Deity, and sinless life, His vicarious death, along with His bodily resurrection and ascension, and in His personal, pre-millennial return. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead, God in the flesh, virgin born as no other man has ever been born nor ever will be born. He lived an absolutely sinless life and became the sinner's voluntary substitute on the Cross by His vicarious death for man's sin. Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day, giving eternal assurance of redemption's full payment and the satisfaction of God's righteous indignation toward sin. He ascended bodily into heaven and he will come to rapture His saints to be with Himself. His coming for His saints is imminent and will be personal, pre-tribulational, and pre-millennial. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18; John 1:1; 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Luke 1:35; 1 Peter 2:22; 3:18)

The Person of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the executive of the Godhead. We believe that He executes the Plan of God for our conviction and salvation. Christians are partakers of the Holy Spirit and empowered for service by Him. We believe the Holy Spirit is a person possessing all the attributes of Deity. He convicts the unbelieving world of sin, righteousness, and of judgment. He regenerates, seals, indwells, fills the believer, and bestows gifts upon believers for service. He teaches the believer and sets him apart for a holy life. We believe the Bible repudiates the charismatic emphasis upon the experiential oriented tongues and ecumenical practices as any ministry of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit is the Commander-in-Chief of missions and that His testimony is not of Himself but Jesus Christ and the redemptive truths centered in Christ. (John 14:16,17; 16:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Acts 5:3,4; Ephesians 1:13,14; Romans 8:9)

The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God and by choice fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and under condemnation to eternal judgment. We believe that man was created by a direct act of God in the image and likeness of his Creator. By disobedience to the revealed will of God, man forfeited his reign over the earth and fell from his created state and standing with God. Therefore, all men are universally sinful both by nature and choice and are void of the righteousness of God. All men are thus alienated from the life and family of God, without excuse, under the righteous judgment and wrath of God, and have within themselves no possible means of salvation. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; 5:12-19; Isaiah 53:6; Ephesians 2:1-3).

The Salvation of Sinners

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of Grace and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. We believe in the salvation of man by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. We believe that salvation is the free gift of God, neither merited nor secured in part nor in whole by any virtue or work of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom all true believers have as a present possession the gift of eternal life, a perfectly righteous standing, sonship in the family of God by new birth. We believe that the cross of Christ is redemptive, substitutionary, propitiatory, and the only basis of reconciliation for all lost men who believe and that there is no possible salvation outside of Jesus Christ and His shed blood. (John 3:3-6, 16;10:28-29; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Timothy 2:5,6; 1 Peter 1:18-23).

The Free Gift of Salvation

We believe that the blessings of salvation are made free by the Gospel, that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel. We believe that salvation was accomplished on the cross by Jesus Christ and is extended to all men as a gift to be received by faith. The basis of this salvation is totally the grace that provided the cross. Although all men are responsible to receive the gift of salvation in Christ, only those who respond to the ministry of the Spirit of God in the presentation of the Gospel will be saved. Salvation is the free and completed gift of God to all who will believe. (John 1:12; 3:16; 5:24; 12:46; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:11-13).

The Security of a Believer

We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ. As a result, we have assurance. We believe that the true believer is forever secure as a redeemed possession of God. This security is founded on the full payment of the believer’s sin by the cross of Christ in His substitutionary atonement and God’s proof of receipt of that payment in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The sole condition of salvation is faith in Jesus Christ and His redemptive work. This positive expression of faith has as its negative side repentance and rejection of any other basis of salvation. Therefore, the security of the believer is not conditioned upon his circumstances nor emotional experiences nor strength but it is an acceptance of that basis of reconciliation that has already been accepted by God. The believer is in the possession of God, which is the opposite of lost. He is secure because God has taken the responsibility for His own. (John 10:27-30; 1 John 2:1-2; Romans 8:31-34, 38-39; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Hebrews 2:10).

The Church

We believe that the visible church is a congregation of baptized believers, practicing New Testament principles, believing its doctrines, observing its ordinances, and exercising its autonomy. We believe that a local church is an organized body of believers immersed upon a credible confession of faith in Jesus Christ, recognizing only two offices (filled by pastor and deacon), sovereign in the polity, and bonded together for work, worship, mutual edification, observance of the ordinances and the worldwide proclamation of the Gospel. The church is distinct from Israel in the Old Testament, autonomous, with Christ as its head. (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 1:22,23; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12).

Heaven and Hell

We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in Heaven and the eternal punishment of the lost in Hell. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and lost, secured by the bodily resurrection of Christ. The spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in heaven, their lives and works shall be evaluated at the Judgment Seat of Christ for the determination of rewards which will take place when Christ comes for His own in the rapture. They will experience the blessedness of God’s presence for all eternity. The spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hades where they are kept under punishment until the Great White Throne Judgment. At this time, their bodies shall be raised from the grave and be cast into the eternal lake of fire, the place of final and everlasting punishment. (John 5:28,29; 14:2; Revelation 20:14,15; 21:4; Matthew 25:46).

Current Trends in Theology

As a fundamental group of believers, we take our stand regarding the current trends that lead to discrediting the Bible and undermining the fundamentals of the faith. BIMI takes a separatist stand against Neo-orthodoxy, Neo-evangelicalism, the Ecumenical movement, and the modern tongues movement.

Our Mission

Who We Are

BibleProject is a nonprofit ed-tech organization and animation studio that produces 100% free Bible videos, podcasts, blogs, classes, and educational Bible resources to help make the biblical story accessible to everyone, everywhere.

From page one to the final word, we believe the Bible is a unified story that leads to Jesus. This diverse collection of ancient books overflows with wisdom for our modern world. As we let the biblical story speak for itself, we believe the message of Jesus will transform individuals and entire communities.

Many people have misunderstood the Bible as a collection of inspirational quotes or a divine instruction manual dropped from heaven. Most of us gravitate toward sections we enjoy while avoiding parts that are confusing or even disturbing.

Our Bible resources help people experience the Bible in a way that is approachable, engaging, and transformative. We do this by showcasing the literary art of the Scriptures and tracing the themes found in them from beginning to end. Rather than taking the stance of a specific tradition or denomination, we create materials to elevate the Bible for all people and draw our eyes to its unified message.

Our Story

Timothy Mackie and Jonathan Collins (long-time friends and one-time roommates at Multnomah University) were tossing around ideas on how to help people read through Scripture while avoiding common pitfalls and misunderstandings. How could complex themes of the Bible be presented in a way that was real and unapologetic but approachable?

Combining Tim’s deeply biblical understanding and Jon’s passion for visual storytelling, they created their first two videos in 2014 and put them online for free.

Less than six years later, we have over 150 videos and 200 podcasts, which can all be viewed on our website, The Bible App, YouTube, Vimeo, and more. We have over 100 million views across all of our media channels in over 200 countries, and we have over two million subscribers worldwide.

Viewership is evenly distributed between the ages of 18 to 45. We are inspiring the next generation to explore the Bible through the mediums in which they have been raised, visual storytelling, and technology.
